Share.Give.Hope. The Ronald McDonald House 35th Anniversary

Moving to Philadelphia by myself for graduate school was a terrible period of adjustment for me - possibly the worst. I had just spent the summer with my soon-to-be fiance surrounded by friends and the familiar surroundings of college. Suddenly I was on my own in a one room apartment in West Philadelphia - lost.

But half a block away was the Ronald McDonald House on Chestnut Street. Every time I saw it I was reminded of families far from home praying for their sick child in a nearby hospital. It reminded me of all I had to be thankful for.

It was 35 years ago that the first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in that very city - Philadelphia. Now McDonald's and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMCH) is asking you to share your inspirational stories of how you or someone you know has been impacted by the Ronald McDonald House.

To participate in this Share.Give.Hope. campaign, go to www.rmhc.org/stories to share your stories and read those shared by others. One story shared will be featured in a national print advertising campaign for RMHC!

McDonald's is celebrating another big milestone this year...

Can you believe that the Happy Meal is turning 30? To celebrate the big 3-0, McDonald's is searching for the "Happiest Cities for Families." Head over to the Happy Meal Birthday website to test your Happy Meal knowledge and download birthday party resources. Then in July watch as McDonald's throws a red carpet birthday celebration in the chosen Happiest City for Families where they will announce the special 30th Birthday collection of Happy Meal toys.

Happy Anniversary Ronald McDonald House. I'm looking forward to reading the stories - you've helped so many grateful families over the years. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for posting about the Ronnie House. If you have never stayed there... I invite you ALL to go visit and volunteer. They are ALWAYS in need of volunteers. You will quickly learn that the house TRULY is the house that love built! We have stayed in ronnie houses in multiple different states with our daughter. There were times when we had nothing in our bank account but an overdraft notice and the Ronnie House made sure that we were warm, fed and had the means to get home (6 hour drive from Chicago). They have been a HUGE blessing to us!
