This was not a conference call but someone called my house at lunch and asked what I was having. When I told them a bologna sandwich, they hung up. Only later did I find out a local restaurant had a number close to mine.

I am a freelance photographer so the majority of my client calls take place in my home. On this particular day I was in the bathroom and only answered because it was someone I had been playing phone tag with for days already & needed to nail down our location. Anyhoo...about a minute into our conversation my son comes bursting in the bathroom & asks, "You poopin' Mommy? Want me to flush it down for you?" My client simply asked me, "Do you want to call me back?" Needless to say I no longer answer my calls in the bathroom...

I think every mother has a story like this but it is still so embarrassing. No I can't even remember who I was talking to but there was my three year old screaming in the background that she needed me to come and wipe her bum. Ah the joys of potty training.

I did not think I needed to explain to my son that I could not speak on the phone when I was in the shower, until he brought the phone into the bathroom and told the caller that I was in the shower.

I was sitting outside on my porch and I was on the phone with a customer, trying to act like I was at the office. I got up and walked into the house and my television was on so loud that the customer said, "Who is that screaming?" The best part: The Jerry Springer show was on!

I was sitting in a meeting with the boss on a conference call from his vacation out of state. He told us some stuff we had to do and for some reason we asked for him to hold. Well as we were fuming and talking trash, I noticed they had forgot to push the mute button!! AAAAHHHHH!!!

As a show of solidarity, I'll share my story as well...

I was being interviewed by a moms' marketing group via the phone - a recorded call - and all was going well. My son was napping, my daughter was playing quietly in her room. Then in the last moments of the call my daughter ran up to me and loudly said, "I think I peed a little bit in my panties and need some fresh ones. See?" Agh!!

I have always taught my kids to say if we were not home that I was in the shower and would get back to them. We have three children 22,21, & 13. My then 15 year old son was watching my 6 year old. We were at an appointment with the 14 year old. A man called and asked to speak to the lady of the house which my 6 year old said I was in the shower. He then asked to speak to the man of the house. My daughter than said he was in the shower also. My 15 year old actually happened to be in the shower and when he asked to speak to someone in charge he said he was in the shower also. Can you imagine what this man thought. The only reason we knew of this call was she had hit the record button by mistake and it was all on tape.

An older lady called my phone and ordered her weekly grocery list. She didn't hear too well as I kept telling her she had the wrong number. A local grocery store delivers for a fee and obviously she thought she had them. She hung up before I got it across to her. I tried calling her back with no results. I hope she got her groceries.

Oh I did try calling the grocery store to let them know the problem but they couldn't take the order.
